Ghee Candles and Hot Flushes…

Hello lovely Wild Woman,

I hope you are well today.

I have loved working with Ghee candles over the Years in my Spiritual practices. The pure flame of Ghee light is just such a clear refelction of our inner light.

Plus, for Wild Woman phase of life, Tratak can be so supportive to cool Hot Flushes.

By gazing into the Ghee flame, preferably without blinking, the eyes water, it’s said in Ayurvedaic tradition that Fire resides in the eyes, so the wateriness of your natural tears helps to cool. Follow with cool rose water eye pads and you are well on your way to calm the fire within.

Added to which, reducing spicy foods, hot spices, sugar and inflammatory foods can really help with symptoms that come with the Wild Woman phase of life.

Ghee is wonderful for the cleansing of the Chakras and Nadis (Energy Channels). Ghee also cleanses the Koshas (physical energy channels) which are designed for healthy living and developing knowledge.

Traditionally, burning Ghee during meditation creates a sacred space.

I recommend placing the Ghee Candle on your Altars or in your healing spaces. Gazing at the Ghee Candle is a practice known as Trataka Meditation.

This calms and quiets the mind because the purity of the candle causes the flame to burn slow and still, not a flame that is constantly moving.

The flame also cools and soothes eyes that have become heated or aggravated by prolonged screen time. We recommend placing the Ghee Candle next to your computer and taking moments throughout the day to gaze at the flame.

Trāṭak is a yogic and tantric method of meditation that involves staring at a single point such as a candle flame and can be practiced daily, morning and night.

Benefits Include:

Improved vision & memory, deepens meditation, stress relief, Third eye opening, and connects you the the fire elements of creativity, intuition, will, and passion, reduced hot flushes.

To make.

I use pre made wicks I buy online.

Melt some ghee in a pan, I use a small candle holder so about 1 tablespoon per pot.

Using a clay or metal small candle pot, sit the wick inside. Pour over melted ghee and leave to cool in the fridge.

I usually make a job lot and store in a cool place.
